The Riviera di Levante countryside between Genoa and La Spezia offers you countless\u00a0opportunities for hiking, trekking and walks on old panoramic trails. In the past, some remote\u00a0villages were only accessible on foot or from the sea.<\/p>\n
Here are some of our favourites:<\/strong><\/p>\n This picturesque gulf stretches from Genoa to the Cape of Portofino. Some mountains, such as\u00a0Cornua, separate the gulf from the Fontanabuona Valley. From Santa Margherita, the “sentiero verdeazzurro” runs via San Michele di Pagana, S.Nicola,\u00a0Rapallo, S.Ambrogio, S.Pantale, Zoagli, Rovereto past the pilgrimage church of Grazie to Chiavari. The Gulf of Tigullio ends in Moneglia and there the Riviera of La Spezia begins.\u00a0The “sentiero verdeazzurro” runs from Lemeglio via Castagnole, Deiva Marina, Monte Serro,\u00a0Framura, Salice, Carpeneggio, Salto della Lepre, Bonassola, Torrente Rossola, Scernio to Levanto. Past Levanto, the “sentiero verdeazzurro” runs via Punta Mesco, where the Cinque Terre begins,\u00a0to Monterosso, Rio Molinaro, Vernazza, Prevo, Corniglia, Manarola, via the famous “Via dell’Amore”;\u00a0romantic path to Riomaggiore, the last village of the Cinque Terre, but not the end of the trail. This trail is over 400 km long and extends from the French and Piedmontese border across the\u00a0whole of Liguria to Emilia and Tuscany. Other interesting hiking trails can also be found in the Fontanabuona Valley, the Aveto Valley, the\u00a0Graveglia Valley, the Vara Valley, the Magratal Valley and on the Gulf of La Spezia, in the\u00a0Lunigiana, on Monte Marcello and in the Apuan Alps. <\/p>\n If you love cycling, Liguria is perfect for you. The wonderful landscapes, thousand-year-old villages\u00a0and their old paths, churches and monuments are ideal for art, history and culture enthusiasts. The beautiful path, which leads through the former railway tunnels from Framura via Bonassola to\u00a0Levanto, will inspire you. You can take a look at the sea again and again through the rock\u00a0windows. And you can take a small, well-deserved break on the beach of Bonassola to enjoy a\u00a0good piece of focaccia or simply take in the sea atmosphere before continuing to Levanto. Here,\u00a0having a light on your bike will definitely be helpful, as the tunnels are not illuminated. Liguria is an ideal destination for all guests who like cycling and hiking. Thanks to the rolling\u00a0countryside and the roads along the picturesque coast, the region is also popular among all\u00a0motorcycle fans. You can explore the Cinque Terre on a motorcycle by road.<\/p>\n One of our insider tips is the\u00a0motorcycle tour\u00a0starting in\u00a0Deiva Marina\u00a0along a magnificent road\u00a0that leads down to the sea, through the middle of the\u00a0Mediterranean maquis. \nThe “sentiero verdeazzurro”; (green-blue trail) is one of the most important trails in our region,\u00a0stretching from Genoavia via Sturla and Nervi, Sant’Ilario, Bogliasco, San Bernardo,\u00a0Pieve Alta, Sori, S.Apollinare, Mulinetti, Recco, San Giacomo and Camogli.
\nThe promontory of Portofino is a natural park and marine reserve,\u00a0a very interesting but at the same time particularly challenging part of the “sentiero verdeazzurro”\u00a0that runs from Camogli via San Rocco, past the headland of Punta Chiappa and\u00a0from there via the Passo del Bacio, San Fruttuoso, Base, Prato, Portofino, Paraggi, Madonna delle\u00a0Gave, Madonna della Neve to Santa Margherita.<\/p>\nThe Golf of Tigullio:<\/h4>\n
\nAs an alternative, you can take the panoramic path from Leivi to Chiavari, which leads past the\u00a0pilgrimage church of Montallegro. The church of Montallegro can also be reached by cable car\u00a0from Rapallo. From Chiavari, you continue via Lavagna, Santa Giulia, Cavi di Lavagna, Sant’Anna,\u00a0Sestri Levante, Punta Manara, Riva Trigoso, Punta Baffe to Moneglia.<\/p>\nThe Riviera of La Spezia:<\/h4>\n
\nOn this route, you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the sea. These hills are less known\u00a0than those in the Cinque Terre, yet they are a true natural paradise, and you are surrounded by\u00a0wonderful scents and can enjoy the unforgettable view of the azure sea.<\/p>\nThe Cinque Terre:<\/h4>\n
\nThis trail continues past Montenero and Campiglia to Portovenere.<\/p>\nThe Ligurian mountain trail:<\/h4>\n
\nThe trail reaches considerable heights in some parts, and with the exception of fewer routes, can\u00a0also be traversed by mountain bike.<\/p>\nOther hiking trails:<\/h4>\n

<\/p>\nCycling and mountain biking<\/h2>\n
\nThey can easily be reached by bike or mountain bike. For those who want to take things easier,\u00a0we recommend using an e-bike. The rolling countryside is tackled in no time and you can enjoy\u00a0the overwhelming panorama view. Whether beginner or professional, here you will discover the\u00a0right terrain for you.
\nThe cycle path from Framura via Bonassola to Levanto deserves its own storyline.<\/p>\n
\nOur B&B is ideally located. You start directly from our place with a small climb to Castagnola. Here\u00a0the road leads to Costa and then downhill to the Framura train station, where the picturesque\u00a0cycle path starts.\u00a0If you are a mountain bike lover or professional, you can explore the villages of the Cinque Terre,\u00a0Portofino and many other pearls of the Ligurian Riviera di Levante by means of a dense network of\u00a0trails.
\nYou can also freeride and downhill in Liguria. If you love thrills and have mastered these\u00a0disciplines, you will get your money worth here: some routes between Portofino and\u00a0the Cinque Terre are a mecca for freeride and downhill enthusiasts.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.gaiaelevante.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/1.png\")
<\/p>\nMotocycle<\/h2>\n
\nThe famous\u00a0Passo del Bracco deserves special mention. It runs along the ancient Roman\u00a0road Aurelia and connects La Spezia with Sestri Levante: 15 km of narrowest curves, hairpin bends\u00a0and short straight routes are a delight for all motorcycle enthusiasts. And all around, you get quick\u00a0views of the sea, picturesquely combined with mountain landscape brushstrokes, which can only\u00a0be found in Liguria.
\nThe Aurelia can also be travelled in the other direction. It leads to Riva Trigoso, Sestri Levante,\u00a0Chiavari and Rapallo.
\nFrom here, you can follow another road to Santa Margherita and return to the Aurelia in San\u00a0Lorenzo. From there, you can visit the villages of Ruta and Camogli. Alternatively, you can\u00a0continue on the Via Aurelia along the Golfo Paradiso to Genoa.\u00a0If you approach by motorcycle from the north, you can cross the Apennines, which separate\u00a0Liguria from Lombardy, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.
\nThe Bocco Pass, the Cento Croci Pass, the Rastrello (or Rastello) Pass and the Cisa Pass are\u00a0historical communication routes between the backcountry and the coast: In the past, they\u00a0facilitated the trading of salt and typical products as well as wines and also served as pilgrimage\u00a0routes.
\nIf you are a motorcycle fan, our B&B is ideally located between Portofino and the Cinque Terre.\u00a0Our property is fenced and you can leave your motorcycle in one of our parking spaces.
